Freshfields Nursery School Stratford Upon Avon 01789 261633

Foreword by Principal Julie Williams

I established Freshfields in 1990, as a small day nursery caring for pre-school children, and it was the first full day provision Warwickshire. My aim was to provide the highest quality of care and pre school education, in a professional yet relaxed home from home environment.

Over the years Freshfields has seen many changes from its humble beginnings and is now settled into its established site at Clifford Forge House, which opened in 1998.  The nursery is based in an impressive three storey Georgian house, together with an adjacent custom designed Coach House and is set in an idyllic, safe, unique and rural location near to Clifford Chambers. The Nursery enjoys an acre of grounds and gardens, providing excellent outdoor and physical play facilities for the children and ample parking for the parents.  Children can also visit our Mini Farm, housing our pygmy goats Mavis and Madonna, Trinny and Susannah our pocket sized pigs and Harry the tortoise to name but a few.

In recent Parent's Opinion Surveys, the atmosphere within the nursery has been described as: ‘bright; friendly; happy; gentle; stimulating; caring; energetic; loving; fun; calm; encouraging; relaxed and organised'.

My three older children (now aged 16, 14 and 8) attended Freshfields, my youngest, born in April is currently in our baby unit.  With my children attending, it has enabled me  to view the nursery, its facilities, the care it provides and the team of staff, not only from the point of view as The Principal, but also as that of a parent.

As Principal, I am present every day and along with the Managers of the 0 to 3 year olds and the 3 to 5 year olds, we are pleased to conduct  tours of all parts of the Nursery to our prospective parents.

The Nursery has a long standing team of loving, dedicated staff who ensure that each child receives the individual care and attention they need.  All children are individual and therefore we plan for each child on an individual basis with an abundance of diverse daily activities to stimulate, discover and investigate.

Our team of staff play an important part in nurturing, caring and educating your child during the most important part of their formative years, encouraging independence, confidence and self belief.

To complement the day to day high standards and to further enhance the children's development, extra curricular activities are held such as Sing and Sign (baby signing), Tots Tune Time (a music and movement session) and French.

I do hope you find our exciting new website interesting and informative, and we look forward to seeing you and your children at Freshfields.

Yours faithfully

Julie Williams
