0 to 3 Years
The Birth to Three Matters Framework.
At Freshfields Nursery our 0 to 3 year old children are cared for and nutured using the "Birth to Three Matters" Framework, which is the nationally recognised curriculum.
The Framework produced by Ofsted ( The Office for Standards in Education), provides information and guidance for all those responsible for the care and education of babies and children from birth to three years.
Here at Freshfields our team of dedicated, highly qualified and supportive staff use four aspects which celebrate the skill and competence of babies and young children and highlights the interrelationship between their growth, learning and the environment in which they are cared for and educated.
These Four Aspects are:
A Strong Child.
A strong child is confident, capable and self assured. We encourage this through developing a warm, close and secure relationship with our children and our attentive and sensitive staff.
A Healthy Child.
A healthy child feels loved and cared for. We actively promote them to be able to express their feelings. At Freshfields we make sure that they are well nourished and active, but ensure they also have sufficient rest.
A Competent Learner.
A competent learner uses all their senses to explore their surrounding environment. We make sure they observe what goes on around them, and encourage them to imitate what they see and hear. We use a range of materials so they can start being creative, and begin to represent their own ideas using marks.
A Skillful Communicator.
We assist our children in becoming skillful communicators by using sounds, signs and words. This may include mirroring and imitation of other people. And we also encourage the children to listen by sharing stories, songs, rhymes and games.
At Freshfields Nursery we recognise the importance of your children's early years, as a crucial step in their development as young people, and to ensure that they arrive at school ready to learn.
