Mini Farm & Animals
The unique rural location of Freshfields Nursery, provides an excellent setting for our children to learn and play in a safe and healthy environment. To provide even better facilities, last year we completed construction of our own Mini Farm within the Nursery grounds.
It is here the children can interact, and learn about our resident animals in safe and controlled surroundings. As well as learning about our animals, the children are encouraged to help look after them, and to start to develop an understanding of caring for their needs.
Within the Mini Farm you can find our Pygmy Goats, our two Pocket Sized Pigs and our Rabbit.
Within the Nursery class rooms we also have Terripins, Fish and our Hamster to further provide a stimulating environment in which to learn.
As Freshfields Nursery is located in the countryside, the children and staff enjoy safe country side walks and are able to watch the surrounding wildlife and animals in their natural environment. One of the favourite walks is along the beautiful Shakespeare way, which runs right past the Nursery grounds.
